The Stardust Hotel is now permanently closed.
The hotel was demolished in Resorts World Las Vegas now stands in its place.


A legendary Vegas hotel with a legendary Vegas performer

Las Vegas grew up around the Stardust&#;s 62 tropical and desert acres on the north end of what became known as The Strip. Here, traditional Las Vegas still exists: a larger-than-life entertainer (Wayne Newton),a mahogany-paneled steakhouse, a softly-lit lounge offering musical acts, an elegant casino, and sundecks and pools to restore and refresh after all-night entertainment.

Amenities at The Stardust Hotel

The tropical-garden pool complex includes two pools—one free-form and the other rectangular for lap swimming. Between them rises a large sandstone structure in a coconut-palm grove. Each side of the massive rock shelters a person spa that&#;s always open for social soaking.

Insider tip: In addition to assisting commercial travelers with services and cellular phone rentals, the resort&#;s business center rents digital cameras to vacationers.


Dining at The Stardust Hotel

William B&#;s Steak House: Polished mahogany, brass, etched glass, and sepia-toned photographs create a turn-of-the-century setting for steaks, chops, seafood, and other dinner fare at this steak house.

Sushi King: This restaurant offers Japanese cuisine, including a sushi bar.

Island Paradise Cafè: Open 24 hours, this café serves everything from snacks to full-course meals, including Chinese lunch and dinner specialties.

Tony Roma&#;s: Barbecued ribs, chicken, steaks, and other grilled items are offered at this chain restaurant.

Coco Palms: The Coco Palms serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets.


Entertainment at The Stardust Hotel

&#;Mr. Las Vegas&#; himself, Wayne Newton, performs in his own theater at the Stardust 40 weeks a year. The Starlight Lounge features live musical entertainment through the night.

Big-band dance concerts are held throughout the year in the Stardust Ballroom, featuring the music of Ray Anthony, Les Brown, Glenn Miller, Russ Morgan, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Guy Lombardo, Benny Goodman, and Woody Herman.

Stardust Pavilion plays host to concerts, boxing matches, and, in December, the National Finals Rodeo.

The casino supplies 85, square feet of poker, slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, pai gow poker, Caribbean poker, keno, baccarat, and mini-baccarat. The casino includes Carousel One, a secluded high-limit lounge. Stardust Race and Sports Book establishes an early line that&#;s followed across the country.

Stardust Player&#;s Club offers free membership cards that reward table-game and slot players with comp rooms, meals, and shows.

This hotel offers 1, rooms in two- and nine-story wings and a story tower. Rooms are decorated with warm gold tones and dark wood furnishings, including armoires, dining tables, and vanities. Amenities include pay movies, climate control, and in-room safes.
