Sls hotel and casino

I had a quick stay in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to earn a few Starpoints so I chose the SLS Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  The SLS is mixed-use resort hotel and casino with more than 1, guest rooms and suites and 30, square feet of meeting space. I found the room for $39 a night, with a $25 food and beverage credit.  The biggest negative of the property was the RESORT FEE of USD $ PER ROOM / PER NIGHT.  I wasn&#;t able to get the fee waived, so the room ended up being approximately $77 for the night out the door.

The SLS is located S Las Vegas Blvd, in the shadow of the Stratosphere towards the end of the Las Vegas Strip. The more opulent casino entrance was on Las Vegas Blvd, while the more understated hotel entrance was on the side facing the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The SLS is a Category 5 SPG property, and depending on the season, you will need between 12, or 16, Starpoints® for a free night at a Category 5 hotel.  SPG Cash & Points rooms are available for 6, Starpoints + USD $ When I arrived around 10am on a Tuesday morning, the check-in area was quiet, and they were able to give me a room despite the early hour.

Next to the check-in counter was a Concierge lounge, which I didn&#;t really have a reason to visit.

One of the coolest features was the bank of elevators located at the bottom of the rooms tower. It was non-stop mirrors, lights and zig zag stripes &#; sort of tacky cool.

Once I was on the 19th floor, the tacky cool continued down the hallway.

The room itself was a World Traditional King Room, and was also a bit funky &#; especially with the black and white photograph of strangers on the valence hanging over the bed.  I attribute quirks like this to the fact that the SLS is a Tribute Portfolio property &#; bringing the best of local charm to the SPG brand.

The bathroom was also clean, and neat, featuring more of the black and white motif.  I liked the large glass enclosed shower with the oversized chrome shower head.

Bottom Line:
I wasn&#;t in love with the property, but I didn&#;t hate it either.  Honestly, I did it for the SPG brand and the ability to earn credit for a night and some Starpoints.
