The hotel looks good from the outside but is not modern and up to date inside. First off there is a stinch coming from the dirty and stagnant water in front of the building, the water shuts of in the hotel a couple of times during my stay. Customer service needs improvement - be friendlier.

I have had the pleasure of staying at this Hotel every year at Easter time for a good length of time. I have always felt Safe and Secured during my stay. I did noticed the slight downward change in Service which is due to some of the new Staff but in general I am always made to feel welcome as the Good Old Staff knows me very well!!! I have been fortunate to have rooms at the front of the Hotel and the noise from the music was not as bad as reported by others whom I presumed was housed closer to the back of the Hotel. I have had the pleasure to viewing the Bar staff who sometimes work under pressure due to Staff shortage but noticed some of the visitors demanding the attention of the Bar Staff even though they weren't covering their area which could end up causing a delay in service in their area. If the staff try to explain why they can't serve them because it's outside their serving area, this have caused arguments between the customer and staff. Must mention my favourite day time Bar Staff name Sita who always portray her professionalism when dealing with all her customers and I only wish others would learn from her on how to deal with situations!!! Not sure what the procedures are for room service but I think this needs some alterations as I have experience quite a few time a lengthy wait on arrival!!! I have always found the rooms very clean and room service is available daily on request if required. From the Management downwards I have found them very approachable if and when I had any problems. I have recommended to others and will continue to use this Hotel when ever I stay in Guyana.

The Sleepinn is NOT an hotel, it’s more like an all day night club! This is a 3 star hotel in central Georgetown, in fact its location is probably its most redeeming feature. Breakfast was good, with variety but sometimes late and many of the staff members were moody and rude. The bedrooms were clean. There were no bugs or mosquitoes in the bedroom. Our double room with two double beds and a balcony was spacious, with fridge, microwave and safe. The bathroom was grubby, needed maintenance and a really good clean. There were no toiletries apart from a cake of soap on a grubby soap holder in the shower. Towels were thin and you only get one each, with no face or hand towels; pillows were boulders of hard sponge and the pillowcases were threadbare; furthermore, the pillowcases that matched the bed cover were too small for the pillows and gaped open on the reverse side; the cheap curtains let in light as dawn breaks. The biggest issue was the constant loud music on all day, till midnight. Karaoke on a Tuesday night was a complete nigh**are, with supposed ‘singers’ caterwauling till late. Friday night was an absolute nigh**are. The music seemed to get louder by the hour from 7 pm onwards. All this would not be such an issue, if the balcony doors were properly double glazed. As things stand, the doors provided absolutely no soundproofing at all. At times it felt as if the loud speakers were in the actual room. Staff need training in customer service. They are extremely blasé when dealing with complaints; and their attitudes indicate that whatever issues you have, it’s not their problem. No one takes responsibility or ownership for anything! This is the first hotel I’ve been to where the receptionists think it’s ok to eat take away food, whilst sitting at the reception desk. Is there no staff room for this? If you ordered food from the bar, it took ages to arrive and was cold. The food was brought from the kitchen and left on the bar, instead of being taken or given to the customer who ordered it. If you left a full plate of poor quality food, there was no reaction from staff at all. They simply took it away. I guess the bottom line is, this hotel clearly meets the requirements for many, as it’s fully booked and appears to be doing a roaring trade. Therefore, the complaints, poor feedback or reviews on trip advisor appear to be of little concern to management. I am unlikely to return to, or recommend this ‘supposed’ hotel.

I read a lot of the negative reviews on here before my trip, and was nervous about staying here, but after the actual stay was relieved that my family’s experience did not match these. While some negative aspects were accurate, overall we enjoyed our time and found it to be a solid, family friendly hotel for our needs. General: The hotel is in a more lively part of the city, but this worked out as it was well lit and had a constant security presence. In addition to the hotel restaurant, there are several restaurants and food trucks close by so guests have round the clock access to food. While it’s true that the hotel food can take awhile to arrive, if you know you may want to eat, do yourself a favor and order food as soon as possible so you’re not too hungry when it arrives. Or go to one of the nearby trucks and bring it back to the hotel. Lobby area: Clean, welcoming with plenty of seating. Refrigerated cases always fully stocked with bottled water, sodas, juices and ice cream for purchase. Coffee bar free 24/7, and a small convenience shop. We didn’t buy anything from the shop but it looked well stocked with snacks and other basic items guest might need. Front desk staff were helpful enough. Pool area: My 3 and 4 year old spent multiple days swimming and hanging out without issue. Adults can have a steady flow of drinks from the bar, and order food as mentioned above. My littlest even took several long naps on the patio swing, as she was unbothered by noise. They do have karaoke on Tuesday nights which is definitely loud and goes late. We hung out with the kids for awhile listening to the singers and they enjoyed it. Our room was faced the main area so it was pretty loud, but the kids have no issue sleeping with noise so it didn’t disrupt their sleep. Bar/restaurant: Sita, the daytime bartender is the absolute best. Such positive energy and friendly disposition, she made us feel welcome the entire stay. She also makes the best margaritas! The restaurant food is also solid, even though some items came back a little on the saltier side. The breakfast was usually decent, especially the curry chicken roti, bake and salt fish. While some of the breakfast staff were on the colder side, if you’ve traveled to different countries, you know that sometimes you have to kill people with kindness and find that they warm up. Some people are polite but just not warm, which is fine too. Others are rude and you deal with it, it is what it is. As one traveler noted, most evenings there are definitely some working ladies there to pick up some dates, however they’re basically sitting around and talking to guys as they come up to their tables and hanging out like everyone else, nothing crazy or obscene. Ultimately, the hotel restaurant was definitely a mainstay for Guyanese professionals and somewhere I would hang out, so it was nice to have that type of spot right there in the hotel to rely on for food drinks, food and music. Hotel room: our room was well-app

The hotel is decent, although noticing damage and asking to change my room I was refused. Aside of that I complained to the manager, asking why there was no hot water for 48hrs & she replied “you foreign people always complain, you need to become accustomed”.

Our company book us into this hotel while transiting to and from the airport /Heliport for travel offshore despite multiple complaints. The rooms are spacious and generally clean if not a bit dated. The showers are hit or a miss sometimes hot sometimes lukewarm. Plenty TV channel too. The wifi is temperamental, as is the power which flies on and off , but I don’t think that’s just the hotel. There is also no bottles of water supplied in the room on arrival. Unfortunately if you are in a room the is on the same side as the pool/bar you will not be getting much sleep before the music goes off. You’d think it was a night club the volume they play music at. If you are in a room above the bar you will be treated to a bass massage as the music is so loud you can feel it passing through your body as you lie in bed. Any other room that’s facing the pool will just be subjected to obnoxiously loud bas thumping through the ilfitting sliding doors. This appears to go on until the early hours of the morning every night as I’ve yet to stay here when it doesn’t happen. If you are lucky enough to get a room facing the main road or away from the pool at least you will be able to get a decent sleep, I think I have had these rooms once, in that case your only problem will be having to suffer extremely long wait times for food. Your food no matter when ordered will be delivered anywhere between 40mins to 2 hours later. Once prepared it seems it will be sat in a trolly until it’s full or until you’ve called enough times that someone gets sent to the kitchen to see if it’s ready, it will then arrive cold most time unless you were a lucky one that’s plate was recently placed on in the trolly. The worst experiences were 40 mins for 2 slices of cold toast and 2 hours for a pizza . That I was informed was made fresh which is why it was taking so long , that doesn’t explain why it arrived absolutely stone cold. The club sandwich is very good and it doesn’t matter if it arrives cold, as long as you don’t mind cold chips. You have to be careful on the balcony to as some of the doors only unlock from the inside , so you can end up getting stuck out there with no way of opening the door, if you close it to keep the room cool, and catching any ones attention is virtually impossible because ,as mentioned before, the music is so loud no one can hear you shouting for help. Luckily another guest spotted me and managed to understand my waving arms. It still took them 40mins to send a member of staff to the room to let me back inside. There are a few staff members that are friendly and pleasant will smile and chat away. There are others that really do not want to be there and just have no interest in the job. A few colleagues have also experienced run ins with mice in there room, snacking on left over pizza. Water that was meant to Be delivered with food ordered at 6pm that also took 2 hours to come, was never delivered untill pm, a whole 4hr30min after it
